This article advises mobile phone users on ways in which they can save money on their mobile phone bills to help them reduce their phone bills dramatically.

Everybody wants to save money. Whether you're cutting down
on home energy bills or skipping your morning coffee, we're all finding way to
tighten our belts and save ourselves some cash. If you want to save on your
mobile bills, there are plenty of ways that you can save cash without
necessarily sacrificing your service. Today we're going to tell you some sneaky
tricks to help you save your hard earned money. So if you want to cut your
mobile bills, then read on to find out how you can start saving...

Switch Your Operator for a Better Deal

Switching operators will nearly always get you a better
deal, whether that's a lower price for the same services as you have with your
current operator, or more services for the same prices as you're paying now.
The thing is that all this competition on the mobile market means that
providers offer lots of special deals and cut rate services to new customers.
They do this to entice customers into signing contracts with them rather than
another service provider. But once you're all signed up operators count on the
fact that you're going to stay with the company. And, in fact, most people do
stay with the first operator that they signed up with. Because of this, providers
generally keep their best deals for new customers, meaning a second contract
could cost you more than your first. The simple way around this is to leave
your operator when your contract ends and switch to another, thereby becoming a
new customer again and profiting from those great new customer deals. Changing
operators is a very simple business and it won't take you long. You can take
your current phone number with you to the new company, and you should only be
without mobile service for a couple of hours while the switch takes place.

Look into Dual SIM Phones

More and more people are using dual SIM phones in order to
save money. A dual SIM mobile, rather obviously, is a phone that allows you to
use two SIM cards simultaneously, and there are a couple of ways that this will
save you cash. Firstly, if you need to use two SIM cards, say a business number
and a personal number, buying a dual SIM mobile is going to be far cheaper than
buying two mobiles with similar specs and features. But the main reason that
people are turning to dual SIM phones to save money is that they let you take
advantage of low prices from two different operators. For example, say one
company has great prices on calling minutes, whilst having high prices on
mobile data. You can get a SIM card and calling minutes from this operator, and
then get your mobile data and another SIM card from another company. It really
is that simple to get savings. You'll have to shop around carefully and compare
rates amongst different operators, but with a little research a dual SIM mobile
will help you cut your mobile bill.

Skip 3G and Use WiFi Instead

Many of us depend on a mobile internet connection and use 3G
and a data plan to access our emails and to surf online. But mobile data is
expensive. It's the pricey part of your mobile calling plan, and you can easily
cut your bill by a third by not having a data plan at all. It's not always
practical to do away with a data plan altogether. However, you should connect
to the internet using WiFi as often as possible. A WiFi connection does not
count towards your monthly data limit, nor does it deduct credit from a pay as
you go plan. And a WiFi connection is far faster than a 3G connection is. If
you tend to be close to a WiFi hot spot most of the time, you can cut your data
plan down to the bare minimum and just use WiFi as much as possible. And if you
have WiFi both at home and in your work place, then you might want to consider
ditching your 3G plan.

Get the Right Apps

You can also cut down on the amount of calling minutes and
text messages that you need by using web based apps to make calls and send
messages. There are a number of free apps, including Skype, WhatsApp and Viber,
that will allow you to make calls and send messages for free to anyone that has
the same app. Given that they're web based these apps will count towards your
monthly data limit, but they don't use a lot of data. And if you connect using
WiFi, then you won't have a problem with this at all. Just make sure that your
friends and family all download the same app as you, and you can be in constant
contact for free.

Check Your Calling Plan

If you've got a mobile contract then you have a calling
plan. This is the set of limits for the number of minutes, texts and the amount
of mobile data you can use every month. Many operators will let you change your
calling plan even when you're in the middle of a contract. You might need to
pay a little money for this, but it could be worth it because changing your
plan could save you money on your bills. Have a look at a couple of your most
recent mobile bills and calculate the average amount of minutes, texts and data
that you use per month. Now compare these averages to the limits on your
calling plan. Are your averages lower? In that case, you're currently paying
for services that you're not using. Are your averages higher? In that case,
you're paying some hefty premium charges on all the minutes, texts and data
that you use on top of your calling plan. You want your calling plan limits to
reflect your average use as closely as possible. And if they don'tFeature Articles, you're
going to save yourself some cash by switching to a more suitable calling plan.
