Users who want to unlock their Verizon iPhone 5s, 5c, 5, 4s or 4 can take advantage of an IMEI unlock solution to break free from the restrictions placed by the carrier. And it makes sense to make your device SIM-free. A locked Verizon iPhone does not work on any other carrier except Verizon, and if you want to enjoy network and calling outside the US, you would have to pay expensive roaming charges. The most viable method of unlocking a Verizon iPhone is through an IMEI unlock service. But before doing so, you need to make sure that:
- Your iPhone is locked and activated on the Verizon network
- If you are using iOS 7 or above or need to restore the device make sure to disable Find my iPhone by going to Settings > iCloud and also log out from the existing Apple ID and iCloud account by going to Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
- If you purchased a second hand iPhone, disable Find my iPhone, log out from iCloud and App Store (is needed), and ease all settings and content by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings.
- Make sure that the iPhone is indeed from the Verizon carrier and holds a ‘clean ESN number’. You can utilize these links to check it for free.
