Reasons for a blacklisted phone taking longer to unlock

Because the IMEI number has already been blacklisted by the carrier network, so the service provider will take a few days or even weeks to get in whitelisted. This is not easy as blacklisted devices are usually those who have been sold by criminals, and may involve legal issues associated with them. So to tackle everything and make sure the device works on international carriers and operate with GSM SIM cards, service providers will usually charge a higher price. After the unlock, the iPhone is no longer considered as blacklisted; it regains its full value and can be sold off at a good price to anyone. It can also be updated to new firmwares and basebands without any worries. And there is no need to fret as you will be officially owning the phone after the unlock.
